I'm on a mission and I'm wishin for someone to cure my flabby condition.
I hate reading magazines these days. Every other page is an ad for wrinkle cream or diet supplements--just say no! It's sad how they pray on those desperate to loose weight! It makes me sad to think how many people spend so much money on these things. My sister told me a story once about a doctor saying to a friend of hers, "if there was a pill that would make you thin, do you think I'd be fat!" Good point. You just don't know what's in there, so don't go there!
If it weren't for the oozing fat thing, I'd consider liposuction. My theory is that people put all kinds of money into their homes, cars, etc. why not their bodies. After all, it's the only thing you take with you everywhere you go. You even take it with you when you go. Do you really want to look bad when people are hovering over you in your casket? It is the last time you have to make a good impression!
OK, so in my attempts to look good, I made it to body pump class today. I really owe my guns to Scott, the instructor. He really motivates, makes it fun. I wish all instructors realized the importance of a personality. Come to think of it, I wish all people did. So, how late in the season can you get away with sleeveless shirts anyway? I mean, my arms and shoulders are probably my best feature. Someday, I hope to have arms like my arm idol Angela Basset. Yup, Jillian Michaels is my body icon, Julia Child my food icon, and Angela Basset is my arm icon.
Guess I've gotta work on the abs a little more now. I owe my abs of fromage to Julia!
A couple of quick, healthy recipes to try (what I had for dinner)
Whole wheat spaghetti with sauteed mushrooms, onions, garlic, 1 can finely diced tomatoes, fresh sage and rosemary, splash of wine.
Dessert: light bananas foster (adapted from my Weight Watchers cookbook-adapted on account of me not having all the ingredients and not wanting to spend the time preparing it!)
1 Tbs. light margarine (melted in pan)
2 bananas sliced lengthwise
cinnamon
1 Tbs. walnuts
1/8 tsp vanilla extract
Cook until bananas are warm. Serve immediately. Serves 2. May be served with fat-free ice cream or light whipped cream.
Bon Appetite! Happy Monday.
