I totally got sucked into a Lifetime movie about a girl who put on a fat suit to make a documentary about what it's like to be fat. It is true that people treat thin people differently, and I think that's a shame. I also think there 's a difference between living a healthy lifestyle by trying to eat right and exercising, but still being overweight and simply giving up and eating high-fat foods and never exercising. It's a health issue and a real shame when people cause serious health issues because of a poor diet and lack of exercise.
Oh, Lifetime. No better way to spend a rainy Sunday. I've accomplished absolutely nothing today. Those cherry cosmos last night sapped my motivation today. I keep forgetting that when I'm eating less, I have to drink less or I will pay dearly.
It has been a super healthy food day today. Started with a Weight Watchers egg and cheese sandwich. Lunch was vegetable and bean curd soup and steamed vegetable dumplings from the Chinese place. Both very light and healthy. Dinner was homemade pizza:
One whole wheat pita
roasted garlic
diced tomatoes
oregano
fat free cheese
Spread and mash the roasted garlic onto a pita, place 3 or 4 tablespoons of tomatoes on top, sprinkle with oregano, top with fat free cheese and bake until browned. It's really good not to mention good for you!
I also had a really delicious baked sweet potato for a snack mashed up and mixed with fat-free half and half and a little sweet potato seasoning made of coriander, cumin, cinnamon, and mint. Really spices up an ordinary sweet potato.
They rolled out the new classes at the gym. I attended the new Body Pump class Saturday morning. They mix it up every few months to keep it from getting stale. I could feel the chest presses today. Another reason to do nothing today! You're supposed to rest those muscles every once in a while anyway. I'll be back tomorrow, but I'll have to take it easy on the shoulders. I think I have a rotator- cuff issue going on. Probably from lifting a 45-ish-pound four year old in and out of the car.
I will say that he saved me from eating all kinds of goodies on the kitchen tour yesterday. I had to chase him around then carry him out before he upended a display. The kitchen tour is a fundraiser sponsored by the hospital auxiliary. Six homeowners open their homes for visitors to tour their fabulous kitchens. Some were really amazing. Some a little too country for me. Makes me want a new kitchen! Cooking at home is so much better for you.
Since I forgot to weigh myself at the gym during the week last week, I stepped on yesterday. Six pounds! And I trust that scale more than my own, so I'm pretty happy about that.
Well, back to the movie about the girl in the fat suit. I'll keep working to shed mine!
