Cardinal sin!

I committed the cardinal sin of dieting! I weighed myself before the week was up! I know, you're not supposed to do it, but I had to. Funny how you won't go there when there's no chance of good news, but when it might be positive, you can't wait to jump on. The good news is it's heading in the right direction. I won't say how much in the right direction until the "official" one-week weigh in!

I still feel like I'm sporting a small floatation device. . . with a very slow leak. Yeah, it's kind of like a small inner tube that I've been wearing for quite some time under my clothes. I'm ready to jump ship at any moment.

I'm getting ready to run the Susan G. Komen for the Cure 5K in a week. I've gotta get the lead out so it doesn't hurt too much. Got a couple of runs in this weekend. The 5K is usually not too bad, except the route is up hill for the first part.

The "healthy" blueberry martinis Friday slowed me down a little on Saturday.
Don't forget, go very easy! (ok, that advice was for me more than anyone!)
When you're eating lite, it hits you a little harder. I think it's best to skip them all together, but you do need to splurge once in a while! (MODERATION Susan!)

Julia could handle all her wine, but she was usually eating cheese, butter and cream. How did she live to long? I need to go to France to learn the secret. Eat and drink what you want, never gain weight, live to a ripe old age! Hmmm.

Once again, enjoyed some really yummy AND healthy food this weekend.

Last night, I made a nice seafood curry. Very simple, just add the following in a pot and simmer until veggies are tender. You can serve with Jasmine rice or whole grain rice.

3-4 cloves garlic
1 large onion
1 Tbs. curry (add more to taste)
1 Cinnamon stick
1/8 tsp. ground cloves or two whole cloves
1/8 tsp. grated ginger
Crushed red pepper, if you like it hot
32 oz. can fat free chicken stock
2 15 oz. cans light coconut mile
2 pounds fresh greenbeans and carrots
1 pound peas
8 oz. mushrooms
1 pound red potatoes, cut in large chunks
2 pounds scallops
1 pound large shrimp
salt and pepper to taste

Enjoy! See ya tomorrow!
